HR, Payroll and Finance teams to leverage ServiceNow to support Workday launch

HR, Payroll and Finance teams to leverage ServiceNow to support Workday launch

When Workday launches on July 1, it will bring streamlined and simplified processes to support faculty and staff completing HR and finance tasks across the organization. To ensure a smooth transition, HR, payroll, and finance teams will now leverage the ServiceNow platform as a central hub for support and workflow management during the launch.

The integration is designed to reduce complexity by routing employee requests through a single system. Instead of juggling multiple tools or navigating unfamiliar interfaces, staff will use ServiceNow to submit questions, report issues, and track approvals related to Workday functions. This includes tasks like updating personal information, processing payroll adjustments, and managing budget entries.

Behind the scenes, ServiceNow will automate ticket routing and escalation, ensuring that the right team handles each request quickly. For example, a payroll error flagged by a department manager will automatically reach the appropriate specialist without manual forwarding. This reduces delays and helps teams maintain accuracy during the critical first weeks of the new system.

The move also prepares the organization for future updates. By centralizing support now, administrators can monitor common problems and adjust training materials or system settings as needed. Early testing has shown that the combination of Workday and ServiceNow cuts response times for routine requests by nearly half.

Employees are encouraged to use the ServiceNow portal for any Workday-related questions starting July 1. Training sessions and quick reference guides will be available ahead of the launch to help teams navigate the new process. The goal is to make the transition as seamless as possible, with minimal disruption to daily operations.
