COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two former Ohio State football players recently visited the Ohio Statehouse to seek support for their after-school program aimed at empowering youth in the community. Braxton Miller, alongside his fellow ex-player, passionately presented their vision to the Ohio Senate Finance Committee, emphasizing the importance of providing structured activities and mentorship for students after school hours.
The program, which focuses on academic support, sports, and life skills, aims to bridge the gap for students who may lack access to resources and opportunities. Miller highlighted the positive impact such initiatives can have on young people's lives, fostering not only academic success but also personal growth and community engagement.
As they addressed the committee, the former athletes underscored the necessity of state funding to expand their reach and enhance the quality of the program. They expressed hope that the Senate would recognize the value of investing in the future of Ohio’s youth through programs that promote education and well-being.
