Automaker Stellantis has announced a significant investment of €38 million ($41 million) in its manufacturing facility located in Verrone, Northern Italy. This investment aims to enhance the production of components for electric engines, specifically tailored for the company's upcoming small-size vehicle models. The facility will focus on producing steel components that are essential for electric drive modules, which are currently being manufactured at various other European sites.
The production is slated to commence by the end of 2027, marking a strategic step in Stellantis's commitment to expanding its electric vehicle offerings. The company has set an ambitious target to achieve an annual production capacity of over 400,000 units once fully operational. Furthermore, Stellantis has indicated that it may consider increasing this capacity by an additional 200,000 units, depending on the automotive market conditions in Europe.
