Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet has announced a significant financing agreement worth $300 million with AV AirFinance, a partner of investment fund KKR, aimed at expanding its fleet. This deal was confirmed on Thursday and aligns with a recent report regarding the financial arrangement made during a visit to the United States by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, who was in the country for discussions on reciprocal tariff negotiations.
This agreement with AV AirFinance marks a continuation of Vietjet's strategy to secure funding for its growth, as it follows a series of financing agreements totaling $4 billion that the airline has established with various U.S. partners. The successful negotiation of these funds is expected to bolster Vietjet's capabilities and enhance its operational efficiency in the competitive aviation market. As the airline looks to expand its fleet, this financial backing will play a crucial role in facilitating its growth ambitions and meeting increasing travel demand.
